In general, no. Scientists who try to be funny just sound, to use a dated expression, corny.I know exactly 1.5 science jokes (one good, the other not so)* so I am always on the lookout for funny bits, as the Brits say. So, I am establishing a new feature on Smith's Super Six based on a book by Leland Gregory called Stupid Science: Weird Experiments, Mad Scientists, and Idiots in the Lab. * My family and friends will attest that I am terrible--at best--at telling jokes in any case.
