Literacy Skills Update

We had a decision-making session in Lit Skills this morning, as we are coming up to the end of our time with Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry (ROTHMC). I unilaterally decided (based on availability and other factors) to take Hoot next, and the students in general were pleased. I think it's a well-written book with many positive life lessons as well as an important environmental one.
The students decided the following:
1. We will read the book in Reading Circles as opposed to independently;
2. We will rearrange groups in a random fashion once all groups have finished ROTHMC
rather than group students by "ability" (as determined by ISAT and STAR testing).
